Foolscap are happy to announce our position as a Finalist in the 2013 Belle Interior Design Awards for our installation work at the Clemenger BBDO HQ in Melbourne. We’re very excited to be amongst the top three Australian Interiors for the Corporate Design category, and can’t wait for the announcement on the 11th of May in Sydney. The other winning designers and their works will be published in the August / September issue of Belle, on sale Monday 1st July.

Tucked away amongst the scrub of Yallingup in Western Australia’s Margaret River, is a unique bakery offering Bio Dynamic Wood-fired Bread. We were lucky enough to visit Yallingup Woodfired Bread on a recent trip to WA, exploring the area for a new Foolscap project not to far off. We were happy to find the remote bakery, with owners Gottard and Marion Bauer taking pride in creating everything by hand. We love lots of things at Foolscap Studio, and this Iwan Iwanoff home in Perth is pretty high on our list. Seeking inspiration for a current project incorporating concrete, texture and form, we were led to the famed Bulgarian expat, Iwan Iwanoff. His extensive work with concrete blocks, and solid exterior’s saw him as a ‘brutalist’ representative in the Australian architectural scene, particularly represented in his 1976 Marsala Home in Dianella. Foolscap shortlisted for Australia Interior Design Awards

Foolscap Studio is pleased to announce its latest achievement in the shortlist at the Australian Interior Design Awards for the Richmond Weekender project. Being nominated for the Installation Design category, the AIDA have recognised the collaboration with Right Angle Studio to create a functional canteen, cinema and market-place as temporal activation of the warehouse for the developers Lend Lease. Foolscap have been on-board the sustainability train for a while now, and we have now decided to take the ethos to the bathroom with Who Gives A Crap recycled toilet paper. Foolscap collaborative project, Candied Bakery of Spotswood, has been awarded the prestige of the best Hot Cross Buns in Melbourne by The Age’s Epicure. A panel of experts awarded Candied Bakery’s Hot Cross Buns as the best in a blind taste test, alongside some of Melbourne’s other famed boutique bakeries including Phillipa’s, MoVida bakery, Baker D. Chirico, Dench and La Madre. Commercial bakeries and supermarkets were included in the test too, including store bought buns from Bakers Delight, Woolworth’s and Coles. Both the Foolscap
